More Bali Tales

On our second day in Bali after Tirta Empul, we headed to the beach...Candidasa.  Our hotel was a beautiful placee-all the hotels on this beach area are very narrow from the road but they go way back on the property to the water's edge.  Although we did not have water views from our room, we walked to the restaurant and pool area which were so lovely.

It was a diving resort but worked very well for what we wanted-sounds of pounding surf and endless ocean views...This is the east coast of Bali.
This is a little island of the Southeast coast-Nusa Penida.

The view looking south back towards Denpasar.

Looking up from the hotel towards the most eastern point of Bali.

The bathroom was outside but walled in...and the bed had a mosquito net..

This night we had our own rooms so it was quiet for reading and relaxing...Each room had double doors on the side which opened on a koi pond...I would definitely stay here again..

It rained a bit at night during dinner and I played with the camera settings to try to see how to best capture rain.

Our hotel had its own restaurant and we elected to eat there that night-easier than trying to get around in the town as we had sent the driver home until the next morning.  I took some photos in the morning of the hotel.
Opposite the front desk-they are never inside-just covered in case of rain.

Alter with welcoming offerings of palm fronds, flowers and fruit.
Koi pond in the courtyard...everything is so beautiful..we were there off-season so our rooms were under $100.
